We hope you will join us for our upcoming virtual learning opportunity presentation by Dr. Natasha Welz, DSW, LCSW. "This presentation seeks to discuss the findings associated with an exploratory mixed method study that explored risk and protective factors associated with Black women’s experiences with perinatal suicidal ideations, conducted as part of a capstone research project for completion of the Doctorate in Social Work degree at Southern CT State University." This session is offered FREE for members and is $15 for non-members. Registration is required.

This presentation seeks to discuss the findings associated with an exploratory mixed method study that explored risk and protective factors associated with Black women’s experiences with perinatal suicidal ideations, conducted as part of a capstone research project for completion of the Doctorate in Social Work degree at Southern CT State University.
Dr. Natasha Welz, DSW, LCSW is a CT licensed clinical social worker and Certified Perinatal Mental Health Clinician with over 10 years of experience providing individual, group, and family therapy services to adolescents and adults in various community settings. Natasha recently completed a Doctorate in Social Work degree at Southern Connecticut State University, with a capstone research focus on perinatal suicidal thoughts in Black birthing people. Natasha currently works as a mental health counselor in a university setting and maintains a small private therapy practice focused on maternal mental health. Natasha utilizes a humanistic approach to treatment and has extensive training and experience in treating trauma and mood disorders across the lifespan and specializes in assessing and treating perinatal mood disorders. Natasha also serves as the co-chair on the Board of Directors for Postpartum Support International-CT chapter.
