The NAPSW conference is the largest gathering of Perinatal Social Workers from across the United States and Canada. It provides the opportunity to learn many aspects of perinatal care from social work experts and other professionals. This presentation recognizes the role that medical provider communication plays in a families’ experience of receiving a diagnosis of Down syndrome. It summarizes recent data on parent perspectives and preferences with receiving a diagnosis of Down syndrome. Surveys are sent to families receiving a Jack’s Basket. Participants will learn evidence-based interventions tailored to the emotional complexities of fertility treatment.
